Hollywood has long been famous for celebrities sporting jewelry that is noticed by the eye of the public. Emeralds became the thing in that era for the celebrities to wear because of the designers.

The Taylor-Burton diamond that was cut by the famous jeweler Harry Winston was presented to Elizabeth Taylor by her fiancé Richard Burton in order to announce their engagement. This diamond cut stone became so famous that the jeweler who designed it was asked by many other famous people to create their diamond engagement rings.

One of the world’s most famous engagement rings was a 12-carat emerald cut diamond designed by Cartier. The ring was truly a fashioned ring from fairy tale fashion. Prince Rainier of Monaco had given this ring to Grace Kelly a famous Hollywood actress. Cartier rings became the fashionable place for young starlets to go when they wanted an engagement ring.

Million dollar ring at costco

It certainly is just what numerous young girls as well as most women dream of: That certain extraordinary man, down on one knee, requesting for her hand in marriage, holding out a sparkling wedding ring.
But suppose he bought the ring as he was picking  a container of milk, a tubful of butter and a giant pack of bathroom paper? Would it not remove some of the romance if he purchased it at a warehouse membership store?
OK, now have a better look at the ring, because it could Turn out to be worth $1 million. Are you breathless and giddy yet?
Well, the fiance probably would not pack up the ring together with household goods because Costco is marketing the 6.2-carat one-of-a-kind solitaire engagement ring, valued at $1,496,255 by the International Gemological Institute, only to customers online for $1 million.
But would the blushful bride-to-be showing off her super-sized bling be a possibly uncomfortable question: “Where did he purchase it?”
There should be no blemish there, says HLN money wizard Clark Howard, because “nobody asks a woman where her diamond came from.”
Howard bought his wife’s wedding ring at a membership store “because it was a deal, and she loved it.”
“The best part about buying a diamond from Costco is the right to return for a full refund for any reason at any time,” Clark said. “That is unheard of in the jewelry business.”
Costco representatives say most have seen a rise in jewelry sales since their internet site went live five yrs ago. Their largest deal thus far is a wedding ring that sold for close to $500,000.
Warehouse competitor Sam’s Club also provides engagement rings and luxury diamond jewelry online. Currently, their highest priced item tops Costco’s – a 97.68 carat total weight yellow and white diamond necklace set in platinum priced just under $2 million.
Costco has received serious inquiries about its million-dollar ring, senior vice president Ginnie Roeglin said.
“Costco is attractive to a high demographic profile,” Roeglin said. “We offer top-quality merchandise at a terrific value.”
The brand has recently marketed itself to be a discount place to go for couples tying the knot — selling rings, invitations, gourmet food and drink, and even designer wedding gowns.
However, many couples say a (hopefully) once-in-a-lifetime purchase of this kind requires personalized service.
Jack Guest says he looked online and in stores a few months prior to finding the right diamond for his bride-to-be.
The healthcare marketing professional decided he would buy his ring at Buckhead Diamond, a small family-owned jewelry boutique in Atlanta.
Guest said he did not mind having to pay a little extra for his fiancee’s ring because it was essential to become familiar with the individuals who sold it.
“There’s still something to be said for the local merchant,” Guest said. “They have value-added services, such as ring cleaning anytime she wants to stop by.”
Buckhead Diamond owner David Ben Moshe says the “Costco pricing mentality” takes away the “magic” of buying such a personal piece of jewellery.
“If you are going to give your girlfriend an engagement ring, and she’s going to see it among bread and tomatoes, she’s not going to feel that special,” he said.

Is Kourtney Kardashian getting married? Scott disick visits jewelry store.

Kourtney Kardashian’s boyfriend has reportedly bought her a proposal ring.

Scott Disick visited New York City store Classics Jewelry along with a friend to purchase a diamond band in September.

A source told Life & Style magazine: “He chose a 1.5-carat princess-cut diamond ring.”

Scott – who has a 22-month-old boy Mason together with the celebrity – made a second trip to the shop in October and is also planning to pop the question soon.

Although Kourtney – whose sister Kim married basketball player Kris Humphries in August – was previously not interested in getting married, the reality TV star is said to have changed her mind in recent months.

A buddy of the ‘Kourtney & Kim Take New York’ star said: “Right now, they’re so in love and so happy with each other and their family that there’s no reason for them not to get married. Kourtney has also really come around to the idea of marriage.”

A totally different source told America’s OK! Magazine: “In the past, she didn’t put much emphasis on getting married, but the idea has really grown on her. They have talked it to death and she said if it’s what Scott really wants, then she wants it too.”

Project Accessory airs tonight

We all know the routine: designers get a difficult challenge, they’ve got less than 24 hours to create a fantastic garment, and in the end, someone is in – and the rest are out. But while Project Accessory, premiering Thursday night, has some similarities from its big sibling Project Runway, host Molly Sims promises that the two shows are nothing alike.

“It’s a whole lotta something else,” . “On Project Runway, they’re all talented, and making clothes through these difficult challenges, but we put another challenge on top of it. Some of these people have never made some of the things they had to make – shoes, jewelry. They haven’t worked with wire, or metal, or made a stiletto that a girl has to walk down the runway wearing. It’s incredibly challenging.”

The twelve contestants on Project Accessory make 3 various kinds of items during the entire competition: handbags, jewelry and shoes. “Sometimes they have to make them at the same time, other times they get to choose,” Sims shares.

The format is similar to Runway – there’s a task, a financial budget, a time limit – but Sims states the judging works a bit differently. “We want to see, ‘Who’s your girl? What’s your inspiration? Do we see you as an artist behind that?’” she reveals. “It was very interesting – some items are amazing, and sometimes it’s like, ‘Are you kidding me?’” Contestants style his or her own models, too, which adds extra pressure.

“What’s interesting to see is the camaraderie between the designers,” Sims says. “If some are amazing at making handbags, sometimes they help the others, who don’t know how.” That’s not to say there isn’t your typical reality drama. “Being in a confined space like that, with so much pressure, it’s different,” she proclaims. “We have some really fun people, some real talent. I’ll let you pick your cast of characters.”

The champion of Project Accessory receives $100,000 from eBay. “On the very first show, I told them about the prize, and I had to repeat it like three times – they were dumbfounded,” Sims recalls. “To them, $100,000 is a lottery ticket – the chance of a lifetime for their accessories to be seen.”

And while there won’t be a big final event like New York Fashion Week – “We have our own little twist on that,” Sims teases – but there will be lots of surprises, some quite pleasant. “One necklaces was made out of rat traps,” Sims says, “and I would’ve paid $500 for it.”

Catch Project Accessory, which tonight, includes guest judge Debra Messing, at 10:30 p.m. ET on Lifetime. And discover behind-the-scenes footage and blog posts on Sims’s new website, mollysims.com.

Kaley Cuoco is tieing the knot with Josh Resnik

Kaley Cuoco is getting ready to get married. The actress, 25, is engaged to marry Josh ‘Lazie’ Resnik, according to a rep.“The surprise proposal took place after a quiet date night in the house,” the rep says. “The couple are very happy and excited to begin planning their wedding.”

Cuoco and Resnik, who works as being an addiction specialist, have yet to set a marriagedate.

This isn’t the very first time the actress, who stars for the award-winning sitcom “The Big Bang Theory,” has declaredan engagement.

On the red carpet at the Golden Globes last January, she joked about marriage and sported a sparkleron her wedding finger.

But Cuoco quickly clarified: “I’d like you to know who I’m engaged to — Chopard, the jewelry designer.” She then revealed she’d worn the borrowed ring on that particular finger since it fit perfectly.

Tara Reid’s marriage a sham?

Tara Reid’s quick wedding to Zack Kehayov made headlines over the summer, but now she’s raising questions as to whether she’s actually wed.

The “American Pie” actress, 35, tweeted about her surprise ceremony in August, writing that she and her hubby – can we still call him that? – had gotten engaged then married around the span of a day whilst in Greece.

However, in a video on TMZ, Reid says she and Zack couldn’t even win “The Newlywed Game.”

“We would lose,” Reid says. “We were never really married…It was never legal.” CNN has not heard back from Reid’s rep about her remarks.

Crystal Harris is selling her engagement ring

Hugh Hefner’s previous bride-to-be Crystal Harris has alleged she did not find what to do to the diamond engagement ring Hef let her to keep, but it seems she’s figured it out.
As mentioned to TMZ, Harris has set the 3.39 carat rock up for auction at Christie’s in NY. The ring, estimated to be worth $90,000, will be sold to the highest bidder the following month. A listing is estimating that the ring will rake in anywhere between say $20,000 and $30,000.
Anonymous sources tell TMZ that Harris basically could not bear to keep the jewelry, because looking at it brought back “bad memories.” Crystal herself, suffice to say, has tweeted in response at a remark about her keeping the ring, “don’t believe everything you hear.”
Harris, if you will remember, is the Playboy Playmate 85-year-old Hefner was ready to wed in June. They never even made it down the aisle, however, because aspiring singer Harris cancelled the wedding five days before the ceremony.
